The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has dismissed circulating reports claiming that liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices have increased in Pakistan, stating that no new price notification has been issued.

In a statement released on Wednesday, OGRA clarified that the claims of an LPG price hike are incorrect and advised the public to rely only on official notifications issued through the regulator.

LPG Prices Not Changed

According to the regulator, LPG prices are officially notified once every month, and any price adjustment becomes effective from the first day of the month under the existing pricing mechanism.

OGRA confirmed that the currently notified LPG price remains unchanged, dismissing the rumours circulating on social media and other platforms.

Public Asked to Report Overcharging

Authorities urged consumers to ensure that LPG is sold at the officially approved rates and warned that any instance of overcharging or price manipulation should be reported immediately to the relevant district administration.

The regulator reaffirmed its commitment to protecting consumers and ensuring transparency in Pakistan’s LPG market.

Energy Market Concerns Amid Regional Tensions

The clarification comes at a time when global energy markets are experiencing volatility due to the ongoing Middle East conflict, which has affected oil supplies and fuel prices worldwide.

Pakistan has already seen increases in petroleum prices recently, with the government raising petrol and diesel rates by Rs55 per litre amid rising international costs.

Despite these developments, OGRA stressed that no new LPG price hike has been announced, urging consumers to ignore unverified reports.
